Blog Journal #5
Twitter can be extremely beneficial. It can be used to connect with other professionals in your field. This can help you find useful materials or ideas to use. It can also be used to gain advice on situations from other professionals as well.
The digital divide is definitely impactful on student success. As explained in the scenario in canvas of the two students, the student who grew up with access and knowledge of technology will have more advantages in further education and the workforce than the student who didn’t grew up with that privilege. One major cause of this divide is economic. A family’s lack of resources or financials to support the latest technologies will impact the child’s access to them. As a education professional, I will definitely have to be aware of these differences and make technology accessible to students.
Two software tools I would use are YouTube and blogs. YouTube is based on videos where users generally watch or create them. Blogs are for self-publishing opinions or ideas. I think YouTube would be helpful to watch educational content to more deeply understand material and blogs would be helpful for classroom engagement.
