       I visited Canopy Oaks Elementary School here in Tallahassee. Many teachers on the site had their websites or sections of one with creative decorations or bitmojis (emoji-ish versions of them), or newsletters. Some information I saw on these pages were their favorite things and contact information. They also gave information about their degrees and their teaching experience. I could see my classroom using websites like Slack as a communication for parents and students to ask questions about the class or homework. I can also use online websites like Notion or Google Calendar to keep track of important dates or important deadlines I need to get done. I could also use apps like the Pomodoro Timer to help me stay on task grading papers or creating lesson plans.     ...

 Twitter can be extremely beneficial. It can be used to connect with other professionals in your field. This can help you find useful materials or ideas to use. It can also be used to gain advice on situations from other professionals as well.  The digital divide is definitely impactful on student success. As explained in the scenario in canvas of the two students, the student  who grew up with access and knowledge of technology will have more advantages in further education  and the workforce than the student who didn’t grew up with that privilege. One major cause of this divide is economic. A family’s lack of resources or financials to support the latest technologies will impact the child’s access to them.  For grades K-2, one standard for computer science is communications and collaboration. This standard includes multiple benchmarks such as knowing different digital aids that are meant for communication and collaboration, being able to use the right keywords in searches and communication with teaches and peers like on email. The last two standards are being able to use technology to create solutions for problems while working with other students and teachers and lastly to be able to engage and receive helpful criticism during group projects. As a teacher, I would deal with concepts by making sure (age-appropriate) students are aware of the definitions and importance of copyright and fair use. When having students create assignments, I would make sure they use the term “public domain” in their searches for images. I definitely learned a lot about this topic. For instance, I thought legal parameters of copyright infringement would be more exact, but it seems that it is based on the opinion of each judge.      The technology implementation issue I chose was cyberbullying. To combat this issue in my classroom, I would use multiple solutions. I would make sure students are aware of the effects and consequences cyberbullying can have on other students. Throughout my schooling, I mostly used MS Word. It’s a software that I am very familiar with and used to using. I also got word certified in high school which of course helps my skills. I did not start using Google Docs until this year in college. I definitely learned a lot about ISTE Standards for Educators. This was the first time I have heard about it, but I am glad there are known standards that push for the betterment of educators in the digital space. I was surprised there were so many components, but it seems well planned out and constructed. It is important there are also levels for encouraging students as well such as 2.6a and 2.5c. I feel that I mostly disagree with the term “digital native.” Even though one might be born with new technology that does not mean they are going to be automatically better with it than others.  Hello everyone! My name is Jai-Ani (pronounced Jay-On-e). I am from Rochester, New York but I moved to Florida when I was 12. I am a psychology and sociology double major with a minor in education. Lastly, I am graduating so this is my last semester at FSU. I’ve used Microsoft programs during teaching experiences with other peers. I also have tutored students so I’ve used the online programs that the schools use for homework or extra practice. I’ve mainly used Microsoft programs and canva. This course was the first time I’ve used this website or Padlet, so I’m excited to see what other website I discover through this course.  As far as my PLN, I would definitely include the teachers and professionals I’ve met during my undergrad years.
